Your Teachers
Eyal Shifroni
Eyal first encountered yoga as a child but began studying it consistently in 1978 through the Sivananda method. In 1982, he began his study of Iyengar Yoga and has since dedicated his life to thinking, writing, and teaching yoga. He directs the Iyengar Yoga Center of Zichron-Ya’akov in Israel and leads workshops both locally and internationally.
In 1988, Eyal made his first journey to RIMYI in Pune to study directly under Guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar. For many years, he returned annually to study with the Iyengar family for a month at a time. In 2009, Mr. Iyengar awarded him the Senior Intermediate III certificate.
During his visits to RIMYI, Eyal met and studied personally with Mr. Iyengar. They shared meaningful discussions while Eyal translated two of Guruji’s books—The Tree of Yoga and Light on Pranayama—into Hebrew. Mr. Iyengar also offered him personal feedback during his final certification assessment.
Eyal currently holds a Senior Intermediate Level III certificate. He regularly conducts workshops in Israel and abroad and leads teacher training programs at his center. To date, he has published eight books on yoga and continues to study and write on both the practice and philosophy of yoga.
As one of Israel’s most senior Iyengar teachers, Eyal remains active in the Iyengar Yoga Association of Israel (IYAI), where he has long contributed to teacher education and certification processes.
Beyond his yoga teaching, Eyal holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology – and taught Computer Science in Israeli colleges for many years.

Please show this address to the cab driver, as much can be lost in mispronunciation. The fare will be approximately $30-35 USD.
